Tap Shoes FAQ

What is the difference between low heel and cuban heel?

A cuban heel is a relatively low-style of high heel shoe, characterised by a slightly tapered back and a straight front.  Low heel shoes, as the name suggests, have a low heel height and are perfect for beginners.

Can any tap shoe be used for an exam?

We recommend checking with your dance teacher first before purchasing shoes for an exam, as some styles may not be suitable.

Can I add or remove the taps myself?

Yes, this is possible but best handled by a shoe cobbler with tap fitting experience.
