What are character shoes?

 

Character shoes (also called modern or stage shoes) are amongst the most versatile shoes in the dance world. As well as being a requirement for many dance classes and exams, they can be used for a variety of theatre and school productions.

 

What’s the difference between Cuban heel and low heel?

 

CUBAN HEEL:

A relatively low-style of high heel shoes, characterised by a slightly tapered back and a straight front.

 

LOW HEEL:

As the name suggests, these shoes have a low heel height and are perfect for beginners.

 

Can I add taps to my character shoes?

 

Yes, this is possible but best handled by a shoe cobbler with tap fitting experience.
